This home-made pesto recipe puts ready-made versions to shame! This pesto contains plenty of good fatty acids, vitamins and minerals.

Basil contains antioxidants, is antiviral and rich in vitamin K, driving good blood clotting function and therefore preventing disease, amongst other beneficial properties.

Highly recommend when hosting a dinner as it’s easy to prepare and continues to impress.

This recipe will take about ten minutes to prepare and makes pesto for four people when used as a side. A blender or food processor is needed.


  • 200 grams of fresh basil
  • Three garlic cloves
  • 50 grams of brasil nuts
  • 50 grams of walnuts
  • Six table spoons of quality olive oil
  • Pepper
  • Salt


  1. Wash the fresh basil and chop the basil and garlic into small pieces
  2. Add the basil, garlic, nuts, olive oil, pepper and salt to the blender or food processor
  3. Blend on high speed until smooth
  4. Serve as you like

This recipe works well on toast, in salads or added to your main course such as this gluten-free gourgette spaghetti.
